Forgive my Heart For Choosing You

Come here boy!

For those who know me well, I am a sucker for good poetry. When I am sad, I write. When I am happy, I write some more. When I am in love, oh! The feeling of love, i write again. This poem below is from a friend. She is called Desma Winnie Wood. She is a poet and an upcoming writer, and I am privileged to have her as our guest writer #1 for 2012… wait since we started. So, the red carpet of talent begins.

Let me not bore you guys so much, here is the piece.

I remember when i was young
a little child with a small mind
but i knew something little
about falling in love
i saw mum and dad walk together
i attended wedding ceremonies
and i saw the joy in hearts
the willingness in eyes
i wanted something like that
to walk beside someone always
to have a joyful heart all times
and to have a willing soul

Come here boy!

when I grew up I began to learn
I knew to be happy
sacrifices had to be there
it was not as easy as marching
in that wedding to the aisle
or as pure as the white gown
that the bride wore..neither
was it as bright as the colours
that flooded the weddings
but I was still determined
that my missing rib
must be somewhere in the world

I didn’t look so hard
and finding wasnt easy
and when i found challenges
flooded every moment of it
but for every challenge
we were stronger together
we stuck by every moment
because the moment of triumph
would be our climax

I don’t give up easy
neither do i walk out as fast
when I know what true love is
I only become rebellious
when am not happy
and I decide to find happiness
from somewhere else

because you don’t judge me
am still with you
because you believe in me
am stronger everyday
because you trust me
you have faith in me
and because you love me
you will always be there for me
am not leaving any time soon
forgive my heart for choosing you

BEST KCPE COMPOSITION

Reblogged from mtakavitu:

I was asleep. The jogoo shouted three times, I opened one eye and left the other to sleep abit. I was wishing I had slept with my uniforms putted on, but I realised if wishes were chickens beggars would been layin eggs. I woke up with only one eye open n and I was looking where the karai was put I wash my face. I found some cotton which I used to burn the jiko and cook a chai without milk called sturungi. I drank the sturungi haphazardy and hurriendily with a big piece of kiugali which had remained at …

I love this composition. Reminds me of the days when we were in Primary school.

Learning by osmosis

Learning by osmosis

I’ve learned…. That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I’ve learned …. That when you’re in love, it shows. Continue reading

Ten Commandments For Men

Real man is who I want to be

Officially, this post began as a movie review. I wanted to tell of how good the movie I saw was good, and the acting was on point and all that. However, I have decided to change the focus of this post and tell you what things I learnt and the things that I saw in me that much-needed change. Continue reading

Secret Message from the Enemy

The poet

I hate love, mmmm; come to think about it I love hate,

I loathe the name and the power of that man, who conquered my gates,

The days of the apostles and the Holy Ghost filled church,

The revivals were great and persecutions those days didn’t seem to change much,

We beat flogged, humiliated, Continue reading

My Top Ten Gospel Videos of 2011

I have a great passion for the gospel. This year has seen an advancement in the Kenyan gospel scene. For instance,

Its been a while since I wrote about my own experiences. I hope that more than just trying to glean over the things disturbing me and spreading them everywhere you will get the message i am portraying. Of late I have been thinking about how much when we say, “I’m saved,” that it actually means exactly that. You see many of us, Continue reading
